In With The Old … And New

Bringing It Back & Letting It Go

Fall is here, good people. It’s my favorite season because it feels like a cool, fresh start.

It’s also so cozy and full of promise. That a sweet combination.

This time of year is also that sorta-quiet-sorta-exciting time between the end of summer and the rising hum of the holidays.

I think of fall as a time of letting go of old things from this year that no longer serve you — kind of like the trees shed their leaves.

Fall can also be a good time to give yourself a little kick start as you move into the last quarter of the year.

Maybe instead of sliding into 2018, it’s time to do some deciding about how to wrap up this year with intention, confidence and pride.

Making plans for yourself now means you’re claiming good things for the months ahead.

When everyone else is writing down resolutions in January, you will have already determined your resolve to be the kind of woman you want to be moving forward.

Part of doing that is designing and living out those plans, versus hoping you get inspired and it will all work out.

This is what I help people do. This is how I help people get moving in their lives — mind, body and spirit.

Some of the most significant changes in my life happened because I asked for guidance, teaching or coaching from an expert  — maybe it was a life coach, a therapist or a personal trainer — I’ve done it all – lol.

I’m really glad I did; my life and the lives of those I love are better for it.

Speaking of significant changes, I am going into this last quarter of 2018 letting go of old things and kick-starting some new things.

~ My online home is getting ready to change in a big way. If you’ve been hanging out with me for the past three years, then my current website with my blog and all of my offerings hasn’t changed much. She’s been a good home for me : ) , but it was time to do some renovating.

It has taken the better part of this year, but it’s almost time for “the reveal.” October is the month, so believe me, you’ll see and hear my excitement about this.

A website isn’t just a pretty place for me to philosophize; it’s a way I connect with people to share my programs for personal development, workshops, classes, events and my blog.

It’s for you, my subscribers, who so kindly invited me into your inbox to see how I can be of service to you.

So I’m letting go of the “old house” to bring something new into 2018.

~ Another thing I am doing right now is an interesting combination of bringing back the “old” and making it new again.

Did y’all know that in addition to being a certified life coach, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Kentucky (license number 105021 #verifyme)?

I’m also an AFAA certified group fitness instructor — I think of a myself as a personal development / wellness “triple threat” — in the very best way : ) .

I’ve been licensed for a little over five years and have worked with all kinds of good people in my practice: individuals, couples and families (I’ve had as many as six family members in my counseling quarters at one time — yep, everyone got seen and heard that day  — and in 50 minutes, no less : ) .

I refer to my therapy licensure quite a bit when I talk about my qualifications to help people make big decisions and changes about their lives, but I actually shifted out of a traditional private practice (a local office and seeing clients face-to-face) a couple of years ago.

I wanted to grow my coaching practice and create classes and programs that extended beyond the borders of my home state. I did indeed do that, and I’ve done it well.

As a person who teaches people about shedding old beliefs that don’t serve them, I had one of my own that I decided to let go of this summer.

That belief was that I couldn’t really meld all of my professional identities / qualifications together and be someone strikingly and completely.

Isn’t that crazy? Our minds tell us all kinds of stuff we decide to believe.

Or not.

If I’d come across me about seven or eight years ago and I found out I was a therapist, life coach and fitness professional, I would have said, “how do I sign up?”

So, in a way, I’m returning to my roots, but it’s really in a way that’s entirely new because of all the unique things I’ve created so far in this career with a goal of helping others.

I’m still the Laura Wagner who can work with people all over the world and I’m also grounded in my city to see people face-to-face in everything-old-is-new-again private practice. Grounded is my word for 2018, by the way.

I’ve got years of training and experience to give to people, and I get to expand that if I so choose. It doesn’t have to be split apart or put away.

I’m doing what I’d coach you to do: Be all of your parts. Give us all of your awesome. Every bit of it. The world needs you and what you’ve got.

So whether you’re reading this in California or you live two miles away from me in Louisville, I’m here.

My Louisville people, you have the choice to see me in-person or by phone. It would be awesome to see you in-person, by the way. I’m in a great office in the St. Matthews neighborhood and I welcome you.

If you want to drive in from afar and see me face-to-face – lol – well, you can come on through, too.

To share the spirit of celebrating my endings and new beginnings with you, I’m offering some unique packages for working with me this fall.

These are “way-back” machine : ) prices. The sessions and bonuses that come with them are something I haven’t done in a long time, but I want to offer it now and be accessible to a lot of people I can help with all of my unique skills.

I want people to come see me in my new place.

I’m excited about it.

I’m excited for you and what the two of us can help you create; how I can help you heal or change; how you can transform.

That is my business, beautiful.

Here’s what I’ve got for you:

The Fall 2017 MOVE Kickstart Program ~ $479:

  • Three one-hour sessions (in-person or by phone)
  • ½ off membership in the January 2018 MOVE And The Way Will Open group program (the MOVE program is a $199 value)

If you want something a little more expansive to take you through December, say, then this next option is for you:

The Fall 2017 MOVING OUT AND MOVING IN Program ~ $849:

  • Six one-hour sessions (in-person or by phone)
  • ½ off membership in the January 2018 MOVE And The Way Will Open group program (the MOVE program is a $199 value)

Payment plans are available. Once you make your deposit here, you’ll hear from me about how to MOVE forward.

And … this work we will do together is about anything you want or need it to be.

I work with many women about how connecting with their bodies in a loving, purposeful way has a direct correlation to their overall well-being, but that doesn’t mean you have to come into this with a goal of weight loss or something connected to that.

Maybe what you need to MOVE through is a big decision, the loss of someone or something, the desire to stop doing the same things over and over again and getting results that keep you stuck and frustrated.

I’m there for all of it. We’ll figure out what you want and how you’re going to get there.

Sometimes when you work on your own, it’s easy to forget that the things you do make a difference in people’s lives. Don’t get me wrong, I know it, but more so in an overall way.

It hits me right in the heart when someone takes the time to reach out to me personally and tell me how something I created with love and intention helped them.

Thank you for your kind words:

“I joined your MOVE coaching group this year.  I did one exercise; I skimmed the emails … and that was it.

I joined with the faith that something in my life would move; but it was like this cloud of apathy, resentment, shame and guilt had me stuck.

And yet, I did nothing.

And then… something happened.

I hired a trainer.  For a week, I self-coached myself out of bed and onto the yoga mat to do the damn routine.

And after a couple of weeks, something shifted.

I felt stronger.

I even started to say the word “exercise” without it getting stuck in my throat.

I’ve been exercising for over a month. And now… I am a full-on convert. I keep telling people how amazing is to move and to feel strong.

Things happened that I didn’t expect. The confidence boost. The pride. The progress.

It was not just your coaching program — it was YOU and your commitment and joy for sharing your love for movement with others.” ~ Jessica

“I wanted to take a moment and tell you how much I enjoyed your free online guide, Live The Lavish Life. It was so beautifully done. You are truly gifted with words, and the whole look of it made me feel special too. Thank you for continually putting yourself and your gifts out there for all of us to see.” ~ Christa
