Core Desired Feeling: Radiant

What if, at first, we got really clear on how we actually wanted to feel in our life and then laid out our intentions? What if your most desired feelings consciously informed how you plan your day, your year, your career, your holidays — your life?

That’s the crux of creating your Desire Map and it’s a process I’m guiding a group of women through in a day-long workshop/retreat on Saturday, April 4th, in Louisville.

Registration is open and I want you to be there. This is the golden ticket — it’s poetic- meets-practical life planning.

Each day this week, I will share one of my five Core Desired Feelings and what that looks like in “real life” for me. On deck today? Radiant.

 Radiant postra·di·ant

1. emitting heat or light
2. filled with light, bright
3. glowing, beaming

My favorite Core Desired Feeling. It’s my favorite because the feelings I’ve written about in each day’s post fuel my radiance.

When I’m brave, I am bright.

When I am strong, I am beaming.

When I’m connected, there is a light within me that others can sense or see.

When I am authentic, I glow.

My vision board for this year has a quote right smack in the middle of it that says “I will light up every room I walk into.” I see that every day and it’s my intention each day.

I want that because I want to feel good, and I also want those who surround me to be lifted by that energy.

I believe in taking exceptional care of myself, physically and emotionally. In my 40s, I’ve come to a place where I am delighted by paying more attention to my appearance. I feel radiant on the inside and I’ve asked myself how I want my personal style and appearance to reflect that.

I almost didn’t want to mention that because I’ve told myself people will think it’s superficial or that my worth (or my radiance : ) is tied into that. But I know within myself that this isn’t true — that’s not what I believe.

How I take care of my body and my appearance is a way to honor myself. It’s a way to play and connect with the feminine. This comes across in my posture. How I take care of my skin. My haircut and color. The clothing I chose to wear each day no matter if I’m going out or working at home. The eyelash extensions : ) I love all of it — it brings me joy.

To me, feeling radiant is at its core, a spiritual connection — it’s knowing in the purest form that God is within me. That’s true love.

If you want to explore your Core Desired Feelings and how to make them come alive in your everyday life, join me and a fantastic group of women for a day-long workshop/retreat: Living Your Strobe Life: Inspired By & Featuring The Desire Map on Saturday, April 4th, 2015

You will name and claim the feelings that light you up inside that you want to experience each day.

We’ll articulate your goals and design small practices that will help you make this happen — it’s not just a theory or a pit stop into inspiration. This is a map for your life
